Dr. Aaron Schachter is a specialist in sports medicine and arthroscopy as well as minimally invasive joint surgery and reconstructive shoulder surgery. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. He has also been a member in good standing of the Milford Hospital Department of Orthopedic Surgery since 2008. He is a member of the Milford Medical Society, the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine and the Arthroscopy Association of North America.
Dr. Schachter provides orthopedic care for patients with athletic injuries and trauma-related orthopedic injuries. He graduated magna cum laude from Wake Forest University in North Carolina, then returned to his native Kentucky to earn his M.D. from the University of Louisville School of Medicine. Dr. Schachter completed his orthopedic surgical residency at the NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases in New York City, and he has also undergone training in orthopedic trauma surgery at Baltimore's Shock Trauma Center.
From 2007-2008, Dr. Schachter participated in a prestigious Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy Orthopedic Surgery fellowship at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City, where he was awarded for outstanding clinical research. He served as part of the medical team caring for athletes of the New York Jets football team, the New York Islanders hockey team and both the Hunter College and Hofstra University athletic teams.
He has authored and co-authored many papers and research articles related to sports medicine and orthopedic trauma.
