Conditions

It's not always easy to tell if you're having problems with blood vessels in your heart and your body. You can't feel plaque building up in your arteries. That's a scary thought for anyone concerned about high blood pressure or high cholesterol.

More Cardiac Breakthroughs. More Tomorrows.

From minimally invasive valve replacements to innovative A-Fib treatments, the world’s most advanced cardiac procedures are available from Connecticut’s most experienced heart and vascular experts — at St. Vincent’s Medical Center, right here in Fairfield County. Learn how our cardiac care can put more life in your life.

A History of Innovation

Many firsts have been recorded in the development of cardiac care at St. Vincent's, dating to our introduction of emergency angioplasty to the area in 1995. The procedure, known as primary angioplasty for myocardial infarction, or PAMI, went on to become the standard of care across the nation.

St. Vincent's is now among the first hospitals in Connecticut to offer patients with non-valvular AFib an alternative to long-term warfarin medication with the newly approved Watchman Implant. Additionally, Fairfield County's first transcatheter mitral valve repair (TMVR) was performed at St. Vincent's this year.

Operating at the Forefront of Treatment

That proud tradition continues today in our comprehensive atrial fibrillation (AFib) program. Ours is the only hospital in the tri-state area to offer trans-catheter ablation in our new, nationally certified electrophysiology lab, as well as advanced convergent and hybrid ablations that combine minimally invasive surgical and trans-catheter ablation procedures.

The Best of Both Worlds

At St. Vincent’s, you’ll find specialists performing the highly advanced procedures typically found only at major academic hospitals, in an atmosphere that emphasizes individualized care. As a community-based hospital, one-to-one relationships are the order of the day. The result is unique in that you, or the people you care about most, receive personalized, state-of-the-art cardiac care in a loving, healing environment that is close to home.

Know Your Risks

Cardiovascular disease is the number one killer of Americans. Advances in technologies and procedures, though, are giving specialists the tools needed to effectively diagnose, treat, and correct heart problems. St. Vincent's Regional Heart and Vascular Center is committed to helping you maintain or rediscover good heart health through a multidisciplinary approach, advanced treatments, and compassionate care.

WomenHeart Support Group: Women Supporting Women

St. Vincent's WomenHeart is a peer-led support group for women with heart disease. The group meets once a month to discuss a wide range of heart-related topics. This new initiative is a collaboration of St. Vincent's and the National Coalition for Women with Heart Disease.
