Admission Screening

St. Vincent’s uses an admission screening process based on a physician assessment. We will review this screening process with you.


Admission Criteria

Depending on a patient's individual needs, a stay in St. Vincent's Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility may be the best environment to achieve rehabilitation goals. Patients must:

  • Be referred by a physician
  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Be medically stable
  • Require medical monitoring and 24-hour nursing care
  • Require at least two therapies including physical, occupational or speech therapy
  • Be able to tolerate 3 hours of therapy a day
  • Have the potential to improve function and achieve independence
  • Be willing and able to participate in a therapy program

Acute Care Therapy Services

During your inpatient hospital stay, our highly skilled therapy team provides Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapy (including swallowing studies) as ordered by your physician. We are an integral part of The Joint Commission Certified Orthopaedic and Stroke Centers of Excellence.

Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility

St. Vincent’s Medical Center Acute Rehabilitation Unit, located on 10 East, is a ten-bed unit providing a comprehensive rehabilitation team approach to help individuals maximize their independence in a variety of ways.

Upon admission, our team will evaluate you and develop an individualized plan of care to best achieve your goals.


Admission Information

The 10 East Acute Rehabilitation Unit at St. Vincent’s provides effective therapeutic services to you under the close supervision of a rehabilitation physician. We offer 24 hour nursing care and multiple therapies including Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapy.
