When you notify St. Vincent’s Outpatient Pharmacy Services we will fill your prescriptions while you are in the hospital and have them ready for when you are discharged.
We can deliver medications to patients at the bedside and counsel on their new medications. Contact us for more details.
We work with state-of-the art computer systems to detect potential medication issues that may arise such as allergies, drug interactions, or insurance coverage issues.
We will communicate with your healthcare providers to resolve any drug-related issues.
Several non-prescription items available for purchase in the outpatient pharmacy.
The pharmacy is equipped to administer the influenza vaccine during the fall and winter seasons. Please call for more details.
We accept major private/commercial insurance, workman’s compensation, Medicaid and Medicare Part D claims for prescriptions.
The patients’ portion of the medication cost (i.e., co-pay) can be paid by various methods including credit cards, checks, debit cards, flexible spending cards, cash or Apply Pay.
We are the preferred provider for the St. Vincent’s Prescription Drug Benefit Program.

Disposal/Donation of Unused Medication
People often ask if they can donate their unused medication. The state of Connecticut does NOT allow for donations - but some states do accept donated medications from out of state.
To be eligible, the medication must be:
- Non-controlled
- Non-refrigerated
- Not expired
- Non-opened/sealed container (see links below for additional details)
